Vancouver, WA (November 1, 2013) – The Café Femenino Foundation provides thousands of children in Northern Peru with a piece of Panettone (Christmas bread) and a cup of hot chocolate each year during the Christmas season. This year the Foundation would like to provide an additional small gift for each child. We need your help to bring these gifts to the children in coffee communities of Peru.
For the over 50 communities that are part of the Coffee Child's Christmas, it is the only time of year the entire community comes together to celebrate the holiday. This annual event was named Chocolatadas by the recipient families. Often schools in the community organize a pageant for the gathering. The community event, pageant and gifts bring smiles to the children in the community. The children’s parents smile just as broadly when they see their children having fun and enjoying special treats for this one holiday celebration of the year.
This year is the tenth annual Coffee Child’s Christmas and the Café Femenino Foundation is asking for your donation to fund this year’s drive to purchase additional gifts to answer the request of children in these communities. We hope you will join in the spirit of Christmas and make a difference in the lives of thousands of children.
