Kiss My Bean has chosen to support the Cafe Femenino Foundation for a multitude of reasons. When we first met the volunteers we were impressed by their enthusiasm for the prospect of changing women’s lives, specifically in coffee producing countries. That encounter led us to research who they were and what they really did. To our amazement they were making changes not only in the lives of women; but also, in the cultures where they live. Cafe Femenino has changed the self esteem of the coffee growers and helped them learn how to: problem-solve; to improve the education of their children; to “pay it forward’ with grants; to learn leadership and business skills.
